so often, I say “wow.”
I’ve been a fortunate girl.
sometimes you just get a good time slot.
here are a few of my “wow” moments.
some in haiku form.
singing Sondheim at the Hollywood Bowl (2005)
are you serious
no seriously, are you
hum-uh-nah-hum-ah
being a celebrity player on the game show Pyramid (2003)
won two folks ten grand
hard to play with a puppet
sadly no Dick Clark
I must qualify
the last haiku and say that
Donny was lovely
having Frank Langella tell me that he’d seen me on Pyramid (2004)
outer critics lunch
nice to know he knew my name
and watches game shows
the 2004 Tony awards
kind of exciting
would have been better with chips
but everything is
the 2004 Tony awards, meeting Hugh Jackman at
he said hi to me
not the other way around
I smiled, turned stupid
the 2004 Tony awards, being a nominee at
amazing night but
it’s not a ticket to ride
wistful history
the 2004 Tony awards, performing twice in
sigh. my husband’s date
for all but thirty minutes
was my seat filler
“Avenue Jew” winning easter bonnet (2004)
find it on youtube
worked our asses off on it
who needs a tony
singing at Carnegie Hall (2004)
the Scrubs musical (2006)
fangirl on the set
joy, despite fear of failure
and jumping the shark
the Scrubs Sesame Street episode (2008)
worked as a local
loved that cast and crew so much
who can resist scale?
the Scrubs finale (2008)
local once again
but hey, met Tom Cavanagh
and had in-n-out
having a broadway bear made of me (2004)
wearing borrowed Harry Winston diamonds (2004)
not to seem blase
but cubic zirconias
put me more at ease
singing with R.E.M. (1998)
I did try, but this
does not fit into haiku
I babble more here
Sesame Street (1993-present)
I still remember
the day that Roscoe (Gordon)
called me by my name
being on broadway (2003-2005)
you know how they say
it’s just two hours a night
that is so not true
seeing Abe Vigoda on the crosstown bus
meeting amazing high quality people
meeting people I admire
meeting the ones who are both
calling some of them friends
