This time I only went “meow” and “bloop.” In the future, other people will be replaced by robots. I will be replaced by a “The Farmer Says” toy.
July 20, 2014: Performed a little girl puppet on LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER in a segment about prison reform
Not only was it an amazing experience to be a part of this show (I was already a huge fan), but everyone -- everyone -- there was so good to us. Thank you, Tim Carvell and John Oliver.
July 14, 2014: Found out I won my first writing prize since high school: a one-year subscription to New York Magazine in their biweekly competition (Competition #25)
Competition #25‘s theme was “Seuss For Our Times,” in which readers were asked for “a contemporary verse, unbound by taste, in the manner of Theodor Seuss Geisel.” My entry, which I tweeted, was:
I cannot go for drinks tonight
I cannot “throw it down”
I cannot play in any way
My mother is in town

It’s the beginning of my third smash year working with them!
January 2 - February 5, 2014: The journey of the showcase run of GREED: A MUSICAL FOR OUR TIMES
January 29, 2014: Performed one of the many Muppets for the final broadcast of LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON (which aired February 7, 2014)
The song was shot in several pieces, and I did a couple of little background-y, right-hand-y things, but some of it was trimmed in post, so the only thing I can say for sure that I did that made it to air was Robin* in the final shot (who was so close to the lower right edge that some TVs might not have even showed him).
By the way, that final shot (where Jimmy gets up and walks down the hallway into his future at THE TONIGHT SHOW) was done in one take, and none of us Muppet Performers knew what was happening - we’d only been told that he was getting up after the last note was sung. It was an incredible, touching moment to witness firsthand.
*I don’t think I need to say it, but you all know I do NOT voice any of these Muppet characters, yes?
January 27, 2014: Did another voiceover for Manhattan Theatre Club’s OUTSIDE MULLINGAR on Broadway
Congratulations to the show for all the swell notices... (I’m grateful for them, too, since it led to the second spot and another gig!)
January 7, 2014: Recorded few lines for a double episode of WALLYKAZAM!
December 19, 2013: Did a voiceover for Manhattan Theatre Club’s OUTSIDE MULLINGAR on Broadway
The VO was for the show’s commercial, not the show itself. Grammar.

July 24, 2013: Voiced an Internet spot for Geico
July 21, 2013: Was part of a San Diego Comic Con panel that followed the world premiere of SCOOBY DOO ADVENTURES: THE MYSTERY MAP
The panel and screening and signing were a blast.
BUT - I never figured out how to get one of those cool WB bags, and the 1966 Batusi figure from Mattel was long sold out, so my husband was ultimately let down. Things were looking up when I passed Nathan Fillion, but all I could do was shout out “howdy! I enjoy your work, sir!”
I think I failed Comic Con.
June 24, 2013: Voiced a radio spot for Chase
June 12, 2013: Performed in KAPOW!, a one-night presentational reading of two chapters of the 1940s comic book “The Green Lama” with Sympho at the Rubin Museum
It’s always fun to play clueless thugs and loud little 1940s kids... but it was really lovely to share the stage with the incredible Sympho musicians, as well as Eliiott Forrest, Linus Roache, Max Gordon Moore, Sonam Wangdue, and the great Tony Roberts.

I might do another one tomorrow, or never again.

what have I been up to?
